The makeover means the SP-2 is slimmer and quieter than it’s predecessor as well as faster. Not that 16 seconds is a long time but the 10 seconds is faster.
You can also choose between silver and gold.
Photo resolution also received a bump from 640 x 480 and 254 dpi to 800 x 600 and 320 dpi. Actual physical size remains the same since it uses the same Instax film. The SP-2 also uses OLEDs for exposing the film compared to regular LEDs in the SP-1.
The last major change is that the SP-2 now runs on NP-45 rechargeable batteries. This is a huge improvement over the SP-1’s reliance on lithium CR2 batteries.
There’s also facelift for the Fujifilm SHARE app for iOS and Android that boasts new user interface improvements and a number of new creative filters as well as the ability to print collages of multiple photos on the same print.
